My name is Benjamin Della Rosa and I am a multidisciplinary designer, illustrator, and print maker. I grew up in the Salinas Valley and moved to Sacramento in 2004.
As a kid my time was filled with comics, cartoons, and video games It was during that time that I began to understand the power of illustration to tell stories. These early fixations forever shaped the way I see the world and my work.
Shortly after graduating from Sacramento State with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design in 2006, I broke out as an independent freelancer, and since then have focused on primarily branding and illustration.
I am also one of the founding partners of Interval Press, a silk screen collective I started with my childhood friend Kyle Marks in 2008, with our other two partners (John Forrest Jr. and Hans Bennewitz) joining shortly after.
In 2016, I co-founded and co-organized CMND SHFT, a single day event focused on bringing together and inspiring Sacramento’s creative community.
My design approach focuses on thoughtful collaboration and flexible problem solving. That approach, combined with my experience across multiple areas of design, has allowed me to create original and impactful work, including Camellia Coffee Roasters, Empress Tavern, and Tiger Bar and Restaurant.
One of the most rewarding and valuable parts of my work has been the ability to collaborate with diverse clients and designers who have knowledge and experience in areas that are unfamiliar to me, and I often approach the client/designer dynamic as a partnership and opportunity for continued learning and growth.
